NLPSCians Bayanihan Provided Face Shields to Frontliners
With the vision to heal as one, the North Luzon Philippines State College (NLPSC) provided support to the frontliners who are selflessly serving the region to combat the COVID-19 disease outbreak. Spearheaded by Dr Elizabeth M. Gacusana, who extended her support and guidance, volunteer employees of NLPSC were able to create 1,396 face shields in the span of five days.
The face shields were made of used yoga mats and interlocking rubber mats, PVC cover, and garter. Ninety-six (96) frontline units of Candon City, Banayoyo, Galimuyod, San Emilio, San Esteban, Santiago, Sta. Cruz, Sta. Maria and Sta. Lucia benefited from this endeavor.
The recipients expressed their sincerest gratitude from the help extended by the NLPSC family and emphasized the importance of having the face shield in this time of crisis especially that PPEs are limited.
Along with the face shields, NLPSC was also able to provide food packs, alcohol bottles, face masks, hand soaps and tissues to the frontiers.
With the growing number of demands, the College still plans to create more face shields to be provided to other frontliners of the region. With this, the College solicits donations for used yoga mats and/or interlocking rubber mats to be used in the project.
This Bayanihan project of the College is in consonance with its mission to reinforce responsive extension services for the betterment of the entire region.
