CTE, CAS Faculty Members Participate in Brigada Eskwela 2019

Through the initiative of the College President, Dr. Elizabeth M. Gacusan, and the immediate response of the Dean of the College of Teacher Education, Dr. Andres T. Malinnag, Jr., made an action on the call of support nationwide relative to “Brigada Eskwela” launched by the Department of Education.

Eighteen (18) faculty members from the College, particularly from the College of Teacher Education and College of Arts and Sciences volunteered to participate in the conduct of Brigada Eskwela and extended their helping hands through their time and effort to the following schools: Sagat Elementary School, Sta. Cruz; Sta. Lucia North Central School (SLNCS), Sta. Lucia; Candon South Central School (CSCS); Darapidap Elementary School (DES); Caterman Elementary School (ANNEX); and Candon National High School (CNHS), Candon City on May 22, 2019.  Along with the services rendered by the faculty members, various types of cleaning materials were also distributed on the aforesaid schools from the cash donations contributed by the personnel of the College.

Brigada Eskwela or the National Schools Maintenance Week is a nationwide initiative by the Department of Education (DepEd) that mobilizes thousands of parents, alumni, civic groups, local businesses, non-government organizations, teachers, students, and individuals who volunteer their time and skills to do repairs, maintenance work, and clean-up of public elementary and secondary schools.  This nationwide caravan is held simultaneously across the country's 16 regions.
