NLPSC Conducts Seminar on Financial Literacy
A seminar on Financial Literacy was spearheaded by the Scholarship Office of the North Luzon Philippines State College on May 15, 2019 at the NLPSC Audio Visual Room. The participants were the 218 Tertiary Education Subsidy grantees for the 2nd Semester, School Year 2018-2019.
Prof. Thelma R. Gacusana, CPA, MBA was the Resource Speaker. She gave insights on ways to smartly manage one’s finances and on the skills and knowledge on financial matters needed to have better decisions about money.
An inspirational message was given by Dr. Elizabeth M. Gacusana. She encouraged the grantees to study harder and finish their studies and to be of help to their families and to the community afterwards.
The distribution of allowances was held after the seminar in which the grantees received Php. 7,000.00 as their allowance for the months of April and May 2019. Also held after the seminar was the induction of the newly elected officers of the TES Organization for the S.Y. 2019-2020.
The Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) is one of the core programs under the Republic Act No. 10931, also known as the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act. It is a grants-in-aid program that provides funding for all Filipino students from the poorest-of-the-poor households enrolled in public and private HEIs.
