NLPSC Celebrates 8th Foundation Anniversary
Filled with pride and delightfulness, the colors of purple, green and yellow bright, the signature colors of the North Luzon Philippines State College continue to flourish as it dominates the festive celebration of its 8th Foundation Anniversary, on May 2-3, 2019.
The two-day celebration started off with a thanksgiving mass led by the Parish Priest of Saint John de Sahagun, Msgr. Cosmenio M. Rosimo, Jr., followed by the inauguration and blessing of the completed projects of the administration for the school year 2018-2019.
After which, the enthusiastic personnel and students gracefully danced in the Zumba activity conducted at the open grounds of the College. In addition to the aforesaid dance activity, the crowd was also entertained with the Silent drill performed by the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC), and in an exhibition wherein the members of the Martial Arts Club executed their fundamental skills in arnis.
In the afternoon affair, students representing their respective departments, vied for the crown title, Mr. and Ms. NLPSC 2019. Out of 14 lovely and dazzling candidates, Mr. Renato Ngangac of the College of Business Education and Ms. Princess Santolaja of the College of Teacher Education were crowned as Mr. and Miss NLPSC 2019. While the other two major awards were dominated by the students from the College of Arts and Sciences: first runners-up were Mr. Jayson Patinio and Ms. Karen Laoagan of the Midwifery Department; while the second-runners up were Mr. Vince Allen Rafanan and Ms. Leah Solis of the Criminal Justice Department.
On the second day of the celebration, a grand parade was held to showcase the talents and creativity of the students through colorful and fascinating festival presentations: the Criminology and Midwifery students in their Masskara festival, Cacao festival for the CBE students; Bangus festival for the Computer Science students, Ati-atihan festival for the HuSoCom students, and the CTE students in their Panagbenga festival, wherein they won as Champion in the said event.
To conclude the said two-day activity, various ball games and laro ng lahi were also undertaken to test the skills, agility, and to strengthen the value of sportsmanship of the personnel and students of the College.
Inspired with the celebration’s theme, “Conquering the Tests of Time”, indeed, the College, headed by the President, Dr. Elizabeth M. Gacusana, together with the whole NLPSC family, has proven lots of accomplishments despite the challenges and obstacles in the past eight years, which they have conquered through their unity, resiliency, and commitment. In the succeeding years, they commit to continue serving the whole community in the name of Excellence, Dynamism, and Service!
