Dr. Elizabeth M. Gacusana, President of NLPSC, was one of the Dangal ng Bayan Regional Awardees sponsored by the Civil Service Commission in celebration of its 116th anniversary during the recognition and awards rites held on September 15, 2016 at the Hotel Ariana and Restaurant, Bauang, La Union with the theme “Sigaw ng Lingkod Bayani: Malasakit Para sa Taumbayan, Kapwa Kawani at Kalikasan.”

NLPSC President, Dr. Gacusana, receives Dangal ng Bayan Award

Dr. Elizabeth M. Gacusana, President of NLPSC, was one of the Dangal ng Bayan Regional Awardees sponsored by the Civil Service Commission in celebration of its 116th anniversary during the recognition and awards rites held on September 15, 2016 at the Hotel Ariana and Restaurant, Bauang, La Union with the theme “Sigaw ng Lingkod Bayani: Malasakit Para sa Taumbayan, Kapwa Kawani at Kalikasan.”

The awardees were chosen based on their exemplary behaviour or conduct displayed within the last three years particularly on the norms namely, commitment to public interest; professionalism; justness and sincerity; political neutrality; responsiveness to public; nationalism and patriotism; commitment to democracy; and simple living. Another criterion considered was the impact of their accomplishments based on the problems addressed, savings generated, people and office benefited and transactions facilitated.

Dr. Gacusana has been appointed as the President of the College in September 18, 2015 and prior to her appointment, she served as the Officer-in-Charge of NLPSC from August 16, 2012 to April 15, 2015, replacing then OIC, Dr. Caridad O. Abuan. Within the span of time serving as the mother of the College, she has initiated programs and projects which contributed to the welfare of the personnel as well as the studentry. Among her major tangible accomplishments were the infrastructure projects which have already been completed while others are still on-going.

Gracing the awarding ceremonies was Hon. Robert S. Martinez, Commissioner of the Civil Service Commission, who challenged the recipients to live by the expectations of the public and to continue to foster public service. (MCI)
