2019 NSTP Graduation Ceremony

Six hundred and thirty-five students received their certificate of completion during the National Service Training Program (NSTP) Graduation Ceremony with the theme “NSTP: Transforming Millennials for Nation Building” on May 15, 2019 at the NLPSC Gymnasium.

The ceremony started with an invocation led by Mr. Ernesto Cabiladas followed by the singing of the national anthem conducted by Mr. Marinel Campilla, both are Faculty of the College of Business Education. Dr. Rico G. Gagto, the Director for NSTP gave his welcome remarks.
The graduates were presented by Dr. Estrella C. Gaerlan, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and was accepted and confirmed by Dr. Elizabeth M. Gacusana. After which, a congratulatory message was conveyed by Dr. Gacusana.

Due to an unanticipated event, Dr. Francisco D. Lopez, the SUC President III of the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC), the Guest of Honor and Speaker was unable to attend the said ceremony. However, he was represented by Dr. Francisco Divina, the Campus Director of the ISPSC-Sta. Maria Campus, who delivered his message. He highlighted the importance of NSTP in nation building. He encouraged the graduates to keep on serving their community and the nation.

The graduates received a certificate in finishing their NSTP course. The College offers three (3) sub-programs under the NSTP namely: CWTS, ROTC, and LTS.

The National Service Training Program is a training program for students enrolled in tertiary as well as vocational/technical educational institutions mandated by the state through R.A. 9163 or the “National Service Training Program Act of 2001”. The program aimed at enhancing civic consciousness and defense preparedness in the youth by developing their ethics of service and patriotism.
