The College of Teacher Education (CTE) spearheaded the College’s celebration of this year’s Teachers’ Day with the theme “Guro Kabalikat sa Pagbabago” held on September 20, 2016 at the NLPSC Gymnasium.
The event featured a seminar and a simple program giving tribute to the teachers. Dr. Fatima Jimeno, the Principal of Sta. Cruz Central School served as the Keynote Speaker during the seminar attended by the CTE faculty and staff.

The North Luzon Philippines State College in cooperation with the Southern Ilocos Sur Medical Society (SISMS) headed by Dr. Hynedina Pascua, the President, conducted a seminar-forum on HIV and STD, Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika, and Hepatitis on September 23, 2016 at the NLPSC Gymnasium.
Dr. Noreen N. Escobar, an OB-Gynaecologist at the City Health Office of Candon, gave insights about Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), the virus that causes AIDS, and STD. Dr. Maria Eileen O. Pascua, a Gastroenterologist and the Municipal Health Officer of Lidlidda, Ilocos Sur, talked about Hepatitis, an inflammation of the liver. Mrs. Angie S. Rubang, Sanitation Inspection V of the City of Candon, Ilocos Sur, lectured about Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika, diseases spread through mosquito bites.
The said activity was organized by the Medical-Dental clinic headed by Dr. Manuel D. Cadacio, the College Physician.

Dr. Elizabeth M. Gacusana, NLPSC President, led the celebration of NLPSC Family Day. The Family Day is an annual and national celebration initiated by the Civil Service Commission and is a part of the celebration of the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary which fall in the month of September.
At NLPSC, Family Day was celebrated last September 19, 2016. It was a continuation of the First Year Anniversary celebration of Dr. Elizabeth M. Gacusana as NLPSC President. The program included intermission of personnel from different departments in the college, and exhibition games in basketball (men) and volleyball (women) wherein the teaching personnel played against the non-teaching personnel. The non-teaching personnel emerged as winners in both basketball and volleyball games.
The program culminated with the Zumba Dancing led by Mrs. Joselit Viado, director for the Culture and the Arts. (YSVA)

Our dear teachers were serenaded and given gifts by our dear students in celebration of the World Teachers' Day. Also, the Principal of the Sta. Maria Central School, Dr. Doctolero talked about Teachers as Heroes.
