To be qualified to take the NLPSC-CAT, an applicant must belong to one of the following categories:
- Completed/completing Senior High School level of Education from the Department of Education-recognized and/or accredited secondary school.
- Those declared eligible for Admission to College after taking the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT)
- Transferees from accredited Higher Education Institutions.

The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs headed by Dr. Estrella C. Gaerlan together with Dr. Elizabeth M. Velasco, the Director for Instruction conducted an Orientation-Seminar on Instruction-Related Concerns for the part-time instructors for the 2nd Semester, School Year 2019-2020 on January 24, 2020, at the NLPSC Conference Room.

North Luzon Philippines State College through the Office of the Medical-Dental Services, headed by the College Physician, Dr. Manuel D. Cadacio, and the College Nurse, Mr. Alex G. Ragucos, in cooperation with the Southern Ilocos Sur Medical Society (SISMS), led the annual celebration of Nutrition Month with this year’s theme: “Kumain nang Wasto at Maging Aktibo. Push Natin ‘To!” on July 16, 2019 at the College gymnasium.
Dr. Elizabeth M. Gacusana along with Dr. Estrella C. Gaerlan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, attend the PISI Platform for Innovating SUCs Industry 4.0 on July 1, 2019 Discovery Primera, Makati City. The workshop which is organized by the Philippine Association of Universities and College (PASUC) in partnership with USAID through STRIDE Program aims to pre-test and validate the proposed PASUC-PISI Innovation Diagnostic Tool.
The Coordinator for Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) of the North Luzon Philippines State College, Dr. Ryan Victor Abaya, in cooperation with the Bureau of Fire Protection – Candon initiated the Earthquake and Fire Drill on June 21, 2019 which was actively participated by the faculty, staff, and students of the College.
One of the strategic thrusts of President Gacusana’s administration is to reinforce responsive extension services. The Gender and Development (GAD) Office in cooperation with the College of Business Education (CBE) conducted a livelihood training in Salvador 1st and Bugnay, Candon City, Ilocos Sur on June 14, 2019.
A seminar-workshop on Outcomes-based Qualitative Research and Strategies on Monitoring and Evaluation of Research and Extension was conducted on March 7-8, 2019 at the Audio-Visual Room of the North Luzon Philippines State College as spearheaded by the Research Office of the College.
A Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) was granted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to North Luzon Philippines State College (NLPSC) to operate its new program, Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education (BCAEd), effective this Academic Year 2018-2019 as per CMO No. 82, series of 2017 – “Policies, Standards and Guidelines for Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education (BCAEd) Program”.
The North Luzon Philippines State College recently purchased four (4) brand new passenger vans. The vans will be used to enhance the capability to deliver the programs and services that the NLPSC owe to its stakeholders in pursuant to its mandate.
